What is BASIX?
BASIX (Building Sustainability Index) is an interactive assessment tool that promotes sustainable residential design. It is the mechanism for ensuring that new homes comply with the prescribed targets.
The introduction of BASIX into the development approval process shows the commitment of the NSW government to water and energy conservation.

An Adventure in Domestic Sustainability
Would you be able to go six months without spending a dollar? Meet Trev Wittmer, Linda Cockburn, Caleb Wittmer and Possum who decided to embark on an environmental experiment in domestic sustainability to do just that.
Their major challenge is to spend six months without spending a dollar on food, fuel, power, water etc. except the unavoidable charges such as mortgage, rates, insurances, tax and a phone bill.
Their goal is to reduce the ecological impact of their existence as far as possible while still having a good time while at it. For more information about this amazing challenge visit http://www.lintrezza.com
